This free 12-Step program is based on eight biblical principles and provides a process for individuals to heal. It teaches the fundamentals for family renewal, and encourages participants to become active members in their communities.
Celebrate Recovery was developed in 1993 by John Baker and Rick Warren. The curriculum is published in several languages and has had world-wide success. Each year, thousands of people overcome life’s struggles as they participate in caring support systems.
A group of ten volunteers began training in 2005 to launch this program at CFAN. These are not professional counselors. Leaders seek to provide guidance on the recovery journey. Referral information is available, on request, for special needs beyond the program format.
Celebrate Recovery is not just for people with alcohol or drug problems. Celebrate Recovery is for people with any addictive behavior that causes their life to become unmanageable. Celebrate Recovery is also for those who are affected by the destructive behaviors of others.
This unique program is built around small group interaction and the fellowship of a caring community. Its foundation is the New Testament principle that we don't get well by ourselves. We need each other. Fellowship and accountability, exercised in a trusting and confidential environment, are two important components of spiritual growth.
Worship, teaching and small group discussions focus on helping each person apply their faith in every facet of life, so they may experience first hand the blessings of God.
The principles in the Celebrate Recovery program, foster spiritual growth, which brings freedom from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. Freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
This vital program is free to all. It is run by volunteers and supported by donations. Most gifts are tax deductible. Donations should be made out to Celebrate Recovery - NSS. Our non-profit tax ID# is available upon request.
