Centennial Celebration
We celebrated 100 years as a church on the weekend of October 13-15, 2006. We heard from Pastor Warren Heckman, of the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies, and from some of our former pastors, G. H. Nunn, Wesley Braaten, Mrs. Anna Jester Hines and Nils Leksen. Also in attendance were former parishioners, and local area pastors.
This was not a class reunion where the focus was on us, but our focus was on Him – His goodness, faithfulness and provision. It’s not likely any of us will be here for the 200th anniversary, except perhaps in photos or videos that were recorded during this special time, but we celebrated this one together.
We had a Centennial Banquet on Friday night, October 13, 6:30 - 8:30pm. Pastor Warren Heckman was the main speaker, and several of our former pastors and associates were introduced. There was a Reunion Celebration on Saturday night, October 14, 6 - 8:30pm. Pastor Bill Wolfson was the main speaker, and we also heard from former pastors G. H. Nunn, Wes Braaten, Mrs. Anna Jester Hines and Nils Leksen. Refreshments were served in the mall following the service.
Special Centennial Celebration services were held on Sunday at both 10am and 6pm. In our 6pm service we heard from Pastors Warren Heckman and Wes Braaten.
